This vintage John Weitz midi dress in deep peacock teal silk is a masterclass in tone-on-tone designer glamour. John Weitz was one of America's most celebrated mid-century designers — a pioneer who brought European tailoring sensibility to American fashion and dressed some of the most elegant women of his era. This dress is precisely why.
The fabric is 100% silk polka dot jacquard — large, lush circles woven directly into the silk in the same rich teal, visible only as a shimmer and a shadow depending on the light. Silk moves differently than any other fabric. It catches light differently. It drapes differently. It feels different against the skin. You know it the moment you touch it, and so will whoever is lucky enough to wear this.
