Vintage Chuchi Navy Embroidered Tunic Jacket

Bobby had a rule about embroidery: if it took someone longer to make it than it would take you to wear it out, you owe it to both of you to buy it.

This vintage Chuchi navy tunic jacket was made in the Philippines, and the embroidery work across every surface is extraordinary. Chuchi was a Philippine label that produced embroidered garments during an era when this kind of handcraft was still given the time and care it deserved. White and cream thread is worked into elaborate floral and vine patterns that travel up the full length of the front placket on both sides, across the cuffs, and along the scalloped hem. Nothing was left plain. Nothing was an afterthought.

The base is a deep navy with a mandarin-style band collar and round button closures down the center front. The three-quarter length sleeves are finished with their own band of embroidered florals. The hem scallops gently at the bottom edge, echoed in the same embroidered border that runs the entire perimeter. This is not a jacket you layer over something and forget. This is the whole conversation.

Pair it over wide-leg linen trousers. Over a silk cami and slim pants. Over a white dress on a summer evening when you want to be the most interesting person in the room without saying a single word.
