This is the real thing.
Butte Knit was one of America's most beloved sportswear brands during the golden age of American fashion — and this WPL-labeled dress (WPL numbers were retired in 1971, making this a certified relic of the era) is the kind of find that makes a vintage hunter's heart race. Bobby would have recognized it immediately.
Navy and white horizontal stripes in crisp Butte Knit double-knit fabric — the kind that holds its shape beautifully even after sixty years. A navy polo collar with contrast topstitching and a four-button placket bring a sporty-chic precision to the silhouette. The fitted waist is styled here with a wide ivory belt and gold rope-twist buckle (belt not included, but this dress was clearly made to be belted). The midi length hits with the effortless propriety of a woman who always knew exactly how to dress.
Bobby wore heels to work every single day. She would have absolutely worn this with stilettos.
